Ferdinand’s focus was on the computer screen, busily thinking how he could best craft the email he was about to send to this client. “Ugh, English can be such a complicated language sometimes,” he murmured to himself.
As he stewed over how to properly construct the sentences to make them sound as professional as possible, his phone rang.
He looked at the screen and smirked. Kirania calling.
He picked it up and answered. “Hey there, you sexy human being.”
“Ferdy, I am so fucking pissed right now!”
That angry response had Ferdinand concerned. “Oh. Sweetie, what’s wrong?”
“It’s that fucking idiot you call a wife that’s wrong! Ferdy, can you imagine this woman saw me in Flourescence Lounge, minding my own business, and had the absolute fucking nerve to come and ambush me and confront me about our relationship? The motherfucking audacity!”
Ferdinand’s jaw dropped. “WHATT!”
“You heard it right, Ferdy. I dunno what that dumb bitch was doing around there, and I have no idea how she found out that I’m getting dick appointments from you, but she actually ambushed me. Started trying to make conversation and all, led me into some stupid pit, then stated she knows about us and karma does this and that and blah blah blah and some other bullshit I don’t remember. Goddamn, I’m pissed.”
So was Ferdinand. “I can’t believe this. What is wrong with her? I know she’s lacking in sense, but is she that stupid?”
“Oh, clearly she is. She is that stupid. And honey, believe me when I say that I gave it to her. The absolute nerve of her! Idiot girl!”
“Listen, Ki, don’t stress yourself. Abi I’ll be going back there. Now that I know this, when I get home eh… she naa, she’ll regret even stepping out of the house, much less seeing you or confronting you. Ah, stupid girl! What makes her think she has the right to do what she did? Huh?”
“I got no idea, nigga. But I’m mad as fuck. The disrespect. And the patronizing tone behind her voice! Talking to me like I’m some dumb kindergarten twat who doesn’t know shit about anything! Christ, I let her have it and have it good!”
“Listen, don’t worry. I’m gonna handle this, alright? By the time I’m through with that dullard, she’ll never misbehave like that again. Trust me on that.”
“Oh, I trust you, Daddy, I do. And I hope you know I’m gonna need some serious compensation for this.”
Ferdinand snickered. “Like I said, worry not. I got you covered.”

12:24 am.
The Camry fully parked in its usual parking space in the compound of the Danso house, Ferdinand hopped out of the car, charged up and ready to attack. He had been seething from the moment the call with Kirania ended earlier that day, and had spent the whole evening prepping himself to deal drastically with Princess.
He didn’t even bother taking his briefcase out of the door, that could wait. It wasn’t as if he had any plans of doing extra work anyway.
Nope, there was only one assignment: discipline Princess for having the temerity to confront his dearest Kirania.
Ever since the day he had made the mistake of making this annoying waste of space his wife, it was like his eyes had been opened to the reality of what she really was: dumb, dull-as-dishwater idiot who was not worth being around. It had been quite a rude and inexplicable awakening for him, considering he used to treat her royalty before the wedding. But now, as far as he was concerned, he could see the truth.
And of course, the fact that she somehow rid the world of his precious child was something he just could not forgive her for. That just could not be erased from his memory.
All that joy and anticipation in becoming a father for the first time. Wiped out by her foolish jealousy. The damn witch!
“Stupid girl!” he snarled to himself as he charged for the front door. “I’m going to teach her a lesson right now. Next time she’ll think twice before pulling such foolish stunts. Bitch!”

Princess was lying in her bed in the guest room when she heard the Camry drive in.
Obviously, there was no need for her to get up and meet him at the door; he’d push her aside and head straight for the bedroom.
She had already been sucker punched by that vicious comeback from Kirania, the last thing she wanted was an unpleasant encounter with him. She could still feel her ears burning from the sheer humiliation of those insults, and the confused stares of the waitresses and other customers in the restaurant after Kirania stormed out.
To think I was convinced that that move would embarrass her and get her thinking. Goodness, she really pulled the rug from underneath me. Such a nasty, nasty piece of work…
She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn’t hear the sound of stomping feet gradually getting louder.
Before she knew it, the door flung open, and the lights were switched on.
“Woman! Get up! Now!”
Princess sprung up from her bed in alarm. Before she could wonder what he had entered the room for, she felt the blunt force of the back of Ferdinand’s hand across her face.
“Ahhh!” she shrieked as she fell back on the bed, holding her cheek from the sting of that slap.
“Listen here, you are a very foolish fool to go and confront my girl in Flourescence Lounge. Who told you that you have any right whatsoever to go and approach her and say anything about our relationship to her? Huh? Who gave you that authority? Who even told you to go out in the first place? Huh?”
Princess started to cry. She should have known the nasty woman would report back to Ferdinand on this.
Her tears, of course, hardly moved Ferdinand, who roughly grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and shook her up.
“Now you listen to me, and listen very, very carefully, I don’t know how the hell you found out about us, or what made you think you can go out whenever you want, but I really don’t care! Don’t you ever in your life try that sort of foolishness ever again, do you hear me? What me and that sexy lady have going on is none of your fucking business! You have no right on this damn earth to question what is happening between us, and none of us owe you no fucking explanation! Try that bullshit of saying anything to her again and see what I’ll do to you! Ofui! Stupid baby killer like you!”
His scathing warning over, he pushed her back onto the bed and spat on her.
“Useless piece of shit!” he growled at her before storming out of the room.
The sobbing turned into a full-blown wail.
What a terrible day for Princess.
Smh. Ferdinand clearly hasn’t got an iota of respect for his wife, coz no husband with a conscience would do this…
