“Ah! But Lily paaaa, how many times haven’t I warned you about this? Huh? Why you go make loose like that? Ah!”
Lily lowered her head as she sat before her cousin.
Just as she had expected.
She was at the home of her cousin, Dominic Amponsah. Better known to many as Nico Blaze.
A well-known shatta in the town, his links were not limited to Donkorkrom alone. In fact, although he spent a lot of time in the town in which he was born and bred, he had major connections in the major cities. Many of his boys ruled the streets in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi. One thing you did not want was to find yourself in the bad books of this guy; his goons would hunt you down and drastically deal with you.
Not that it was easy to get into his bad books, though. He generally stayed out of trouble and had no run-ins with the police. And he was pleasant to the average person he met on the street. All you had to do was just go about your daily business and not touch him, his money or his loved ones. Especially his beloved cousin, Lily.
Which was why she was there.
She had to do something about this matter. Damien had now blocked her number from calling him, as well as on WhatsApp. She was deeply hurt and needed some form of closure; she couldn’t let him get away with just using her. And she knew this cousin of hers would be more than eager to assist.
Before she got the help she wanted, though, she knew there would be a firing line to stand before. Nico had warned her on multiple occasions to be careful of the advances of men, pointing out that most of them would only want to have fun with her curves and leave her afterward. She had been silent about her fling with Damien as a result; she was enjoying his services too much to confess to Nico that she had let one in. Besides, she had included him as a recipient of the surprise announcement she and Damien had ‘planned’.
Unfortunately, she now had to come clean and let him know she had fallen victim to one of those guys. And as expected, he was not happy at all.
“Ah, I’ve told you before, Lily, I’ve told you! That you should be careful around these boys, because most of them see all this body and their only agenda is to f**k you. They’ll tell you they love you and they want to be with you and all, but it’s all lies. And when they’re done, they’ll just dump you and pretend like you’re some diseased animal bi. I told you, didn’t I? Now look. Ah… and you say you two were having sex for how long?”
Already feeling terrible, she stuttered, “It-it-it’s been s-s-s-six months now.”
Nico doubled over. “WHAT?! Six months that you were collecting this boy’s d**k, and you never said anything to me? Ei, Lily! How you manage f**k up like this? Ahh!”
Tears already forming in her eyes, she whimpered, “I-I-I… I’m sorry, Nico. I just… I ju-just… I loved him so much, Nico. He said…”
“He said, he said. Massa, that’s how they get through to you. They say all the sweet, sweet things so that you off your pants and let them in. Ah, Lily, you really disappoint me. You make I shock give you. I’ve warned you about this. I’ve warned you.”
The pain of disappointing one of her dearest cousins now adding extra weight to the burden on her shoulders, she broke down and wept bitterly. “I’m sorry, Nico!” she wailed miserably. “I’m sorry! I wish I had never fallen for him! I wish I never became his friend! The way this boy has made a fool out of me eh, I’ve regretted oooo, I’ve regretted! Hei!”
Nico Blaze’s disappointed look softened as he watched his dear cousin turn into a weeping mess. He was not pleased with her at all, but he hated seeing her this miserable. He sighed and pulled her close. “It’s alright, Lily, it’s alright.”
She bawled in his arms for a few more minutes as he patted her on the back and consoled her.
As she calmed down, she sat up and sniffed. “I really regret, Nico. I really do. Me naaa, I liked him, that’s why. If only I had had sense and stretched him till he was done with his service…”
“Chale, forget,” Nico cut in. “What is done is done. Wishing you hadn’t done so and so won’t change anything. Just own the mistake and look to the future, okay? You still have a bright future ahead of you, so don’t be perturbed by that. But wait, what did you say this guy said when you called him?”
Lily sighed as she wiped her face, still quite pained by those comments. “He said that whatever I thought was between us is no more, and that for him, it was just entertainment to pass the time while he was here in Donkorkrom.”
Nico sat up, looking stunned at that statement. He hadn’t processed it the first time she mentioned it; he was too upset at her for falling prey to this idiot. “Wait, wait, wait. You mean to tell me this guy stated plainly that having sex with you was just entertainment for him? That’s what he said?”
Lily nodded. “That’s what he said.”
“Herh! So this guy dey see my dearest cousin sey she just be some sex toy, eh?”
Lily sighed. “Looks like it.”
“What’s his name again?”
“Damien McCarthy.”
A sinister smile crept across the face of Nico. That smile that crept up whenever someone had made themselves ripe for his trap.
“Sweetie,” he started calmly, holding Lily’s hand, “listen here. I might not be happy with you for opening up your legs for this guy, but chale, you’re still my darling cousin, and I’ll be damned if a full blown kwasia like this Damien guy gets away with this. The cheek of it! He thinks my dear Lily is just some blow-up toy for his sexual gratification, eh? No problem. My dear, just go home and continue helping Maa Aggie, I’ll handle this boy myself. These are the kind of foolish boys I handle for fun. Not confused idiots like that Skinto guy.”
Lily laughed. It felt good to let out a good one after such a horrendous few hours. “Oh, as for Skinto di33, Maame is enough to send him running. That joke of a man!”
Nico smiled and squeezed her hand. “That’s more like it, baby girl. Keep your spirits up, okay? As you’ve told me about this foolish beast, that’s all. Just dry your eyes and go back home. I’ve got it all under control.”

“I dey oo, my nigga. Chale, some assignment bi just pop up. I dey hia you Accra niggas make you do something gimme.”
Half an hour had passed. Nico had gotten Lily to cheer up and sent her home in a more light hearted mood. Now it was time to get down to business.
He was on a WhatsApp call with Lamidi, a fellow shatta who was known to own the streets of Accra.
“Sure, sure, what dey happen? You di33, you be my boss. Anything biaa, I dey give you.”

“Oh, yawa no dey. We still go fit find am. That one no be problem. So chale, make we go find am then beat am?”
Nico shook his head. “Oh naaa, that be too easy. See, I get some plan bi for my head. I dey won make you then your niggas take your time with that boy. Make you no beat am just yet, but make sure sey ein life go be a living hell. The plan for my head inside, e dey sound basic, but you naa, you go understand.”
“Saaa? Chale, my boss, I dey listen kraaa. Lay am out give me. I go make sure sey the squad go run things give you kraaa.”
“Thank you, my guy. Okay, so this be the plan…”
