Welcome, dear reader!!

It’s time to follow this gentleman on this 2 week journey of his. Will it be memorable? Most definitely! There’s not much I need to say; let’s just get moving right away!

“Mr. Richie Acquah!”

Busily zipping up the suitcase laid on the king-sized bed before me, I looked up at the doorway and saw the owner of the voice that just called my name.

I smiled as I saw the exaggerated pout and the sad expression on the face of the cute little lady standing there.

The most beautiful little lady in the world.

Mrs. Eleanor Acquah, my incredible, sensational, beloved wife.

“You’re not even gone yet, but I miss you already!”

“Awwww!”

I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her tightly. “Honey, I’m already missing you too. I wish we could have gone together, I really do.”

“Me too, babe, but this workplace of mine won’t let us be great.”

“Yeah, I know. It sucks, though. I really wanted to get outta town with you and just come back to the hotel room and chill with you. Now I gotta chill by myself for fourteen days.”

Eleanor made fake crying sounds as she buried her face in my shirt. “Fourteen days is too looonnnggg! I’ll just fall sick without you by my side.”

I laughed. “Aww, come on, baby. You’ll be fine. Two weeks will come by quickly before we know it, and I’ll be back. Now come here, give Zazzy a kiss.”

Eleanor lifted her face, smirked, and shook her head before giving me a kiss. “You still haven’t mastered the art of pronouncing it well, young man.”

I rolled my eyes. “Ugh! I’m doing the ‘dz’ thing you’re talking about. What again?”

“No, you’re not. You’re just doing the ‘z’ on its own. The z alone doesn’t give it the sexy little tang it needs.”

I rolled his eyes even harder at that. I have no idea what that ‘sexy little tang’ is supposed to be. “Please, I give up. I can’t master any art of ‘dz’ biaa. Lemme think of myself!”

Eleanor laughed as I released her and went back to the suitcase. She left the room and returned to wherever she was. Most likely the kitchen.

You know, if you sit down with this thirty-six year old man talking right now, and you ask him about his life, he’ll admit to you that he’s made plenty of mistakes along life’s way. But he will also tell you that he is extremely grateful to God that he’s gotten a lot of things right.

And chief among them was making Eleanor Ewuadjoa Eshun his wife.

I still remember the first time I met that jaw-dropping beauty with a bubbly disposition at a friend’s church. Damn! I knew my heart would not be at ease until I made her my woman.

Was it easy? Not in the slightest. I mean, this is a petite woman with stunning looks, a sparkling smile, full lips that you just wanna kiss all day, and a sweet, playful demeanor that would melt any man in the knees. She had numerous suitors running after her, and technically, I was one out of many.

Which is why the friend in question was so hesitant about giving me her number. It took me over 3 weeks to finally get it; her insistence that this babe was not attainable hardly fazed me. I just went ahead and joined the long line, hoping for the best.

And guess what? From the moment I stepped in and made her know I was madly in love with her, Eleanor knew that I was the man she wanted to be with. Forget everyone else, the spectacular babe made her choice: Richie Acquah was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

And since we made our union official a year and a half ago, we couldn’t be happier. Eleanor absolutely adores me and thinks the world of me, like, she’s ready to do whatever she can to make me happy. And of course, the feeling is very much mutual; that woman’s welfare is paramount to every single decision I make.

Which was why I had to undertake this trip.

So I’m pretty much an aquaculture guy; I studied it at the University of Cape Coast, and I’ve always had a passion for fish farming. So my homeboy Jay Djinn linked me up with this Spanish dude. Sebastian Ahmed. An investor and aquaculture expert who’s into that field. The man had some serious plans for a major fish farm somewhere in the Western Region, and he was putting together a management team for it.

He wanted me to be the general manager of the farm.

In the build-up to this trip, he laid out their plans for the farm and bro! They are solid as heck, and extremely promising as well.

If all goes well, within two to three years, we’re looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit! With the kind of money I’d be getting, I can retire my sweet wife and let her do whatever her precious little heart desires. Yep, I wanna secure this thing so I can do what I love and give Eleanor Acquah the soft life she deserves.

A total win-win, right?

So I was heading off to Takoradi, where Sebastian was organizing a conference for all the new people involved. Five days of that, then the next week would be for visiting the site for the farm at Aboadze and getting acquainted with it and all the stuff involved. It was all taking place in the Alliance Hotel. A pretty classy hotel in Takoradi, per my checks on their website.

I really wanted to bring Eleanor along, but of course, work wouldn’t allow it. Sigh.

Within a couple of minutes, I was done packing my stuff. Time to get moving. It was 1:30, and my flight to Takoradi was at 3 pm. It would take me half an hour to get to the airport if we left right away, and there would be more than enough time to check in and do all the necessities.

“Okay, babe! I’m done with the packing!” I called as I took up the suitcase and moved out of the room, heading to the kitchen where she had returned to. “Let’s get moving!”

“Just a minute!” she called back.

I poked my head into the kitchen. There she was, busily washing up the last cups left in the sink.

You ever enjoyed the sight of your five-foot-three wife looking so busy and hot in a black T-shirt and small brown shorts? Well, I did at that moment. Nothing beats having a stunning, sexy wife, I can tell you that.

I walked over to her, just as she turned to me.

“Get over here, girl.”

Before she could react, I grabbed her by the waist and pressed my lips against hers.

Man, the sweetness of kissing that beautiful woman! God couldn’t have been better to me by giving her to me, and I love showing appreciation for that by springing those surprise kisses on her.

After a few seconds of that passionate kiss, when we separated, there was that familiar look on her face. Giddy, but sad.

She immediately wrapped her arms around my waist and buried her face in my shirt.

“Babe, please don’t go. Please. I need you here.”

Yeah, I kinda expected that.

I sighed and smiled as I rubbed her back. The effects of my kiss on her are something else; I dunno how she gets so clingy and super-attached to me after we make out. But I sure love it.

“Honeyyyyyyy,” I cooed as I stroked her. “I know you need me here. And you know I’d choose you over everything else. But you know I gotta do this for us. There’s a beautiful life on the other side of this conference for us, remember?”

She sighed as she held on for a few more seconds before letting me go. “You’re right, you’re right. Sorry, babe.”

“Awww, no need to be sorry. I know how you feel. But we’ll be fine.”

She nodded silently as she turned back to the sink. Then she muttered, “Now I have to go celibate for the next two weeks. That sucks.”

I snickered. “Well, that’s your wahala. As for me, I have no problems. I’m a holy virgin. Sanctified and set apart unto the Lord…”

“Richie, there are knives in this kitchen. Don’t test me.”

I laughed out loud. I love annoying her with that ridiculous ‘virgin’ talk.

About thirty minutes later, we were in the Kotoka International Airport departure area for the local flights.

I was in the passenger seat, with the adorable Mrs. Eleanor Acquah at the wheel. As we arrived at the space for her to park so I could get out and head inside for my flight, she switched off the engine, then turned to me.

“Take care of yourself, my love,” she said gently as she took my hand in hers.

I smiled and squeezed hers slightly. “You too, baby. And remember, this trip is gonna open up a whole lot for us. Won’t be long till we’re catching flights on a regular basis.”

She grinned. “Like Turks & Caicos? Bali? Santorini? Dubai?”

“All that and more, baby. Picture us making sweet love in a hotel in Sao Tome and Principe, coz trust me, that’s gonna be a part of our future.”

“Sweet! I trust you, Richie. Go secure that bag for us!” she declared, throwing her arms around me and hugging me tightly.

I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed her. For the last time in the next two weeks.

We separated, then stepped out of the car as she took my hand luggage while I went for my suitcase. Closing the car boot, I moved to her. We held hands for a moment, looking into each other’s eyes, then I moved to kiss her on the forehead.

“Babe, please don’t activate my mumu settings if you wanna go peacefully.”

I stopped just in time. Yeah, she’s one of those girls. Those types of girls who melt at a forehead kiss. And she was right. If I made the mistake of kissing her forehead… the scenes! Nobody wants to see a man with a screaming little lady wrapped around him, yelling “DON’T LEAVE ME! DON’T LEAVE ME!” at the airport now, do they?

Okay, don’t mind me, I’m exaggerating. She’d never do that. But there certainly would be an advanced version of what happened in the kitchen.

“Oh, right. You’re right. Haha. Alright, baby, I’ll let you know when I’m on the plane.”

“Sure, honey. Have a safe journey! I love you!”

“I love you too, Mrs. Acquah!” I called as I headed toward the departure area. Time to get the trip to Takoradi underway!

So what’s in store for Richie in Takoradi? And what do you think of the vibe between him and Eleanor? They seem to be very much in love, don’t they?
