Welcome, dear reader!
Here’s another story with love at its centerpiece. This should be quite the journey we have. Let’s get it moving!
The sun hung low in the sky as it began to set on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Joojo Daniels, with his raven-black hair and an infectious smile, sat behind the wheel of his sleek Nissan Altima, admiring the gradual sunset as he navigated the familiar streets, on his way to his favourite person’s apartment.
After a regular day of church, followed by lazing about at home to get as much rest as possible before the new working week began, he got a call from her.
And all it took was for her to tell him she wanted him around, and he was happily making his way towards Abena Foriwaa Frimpong’s residence.
As he drove, the goosebump-inducing crooning of Peter Cetera filled the car. Joojo couldn’t resist the temptation to sing along to that classic tune.
“I am the man who will fight for your honor/I’ll be the hero that your dreaming of,” he sang heartily to himself as he reminisced about the time he first met his dear Abena. The lyrics pretty much resonated with his feelings for her, amplifying the joy that filled him up. Glancing at the bouquet of fresh flowers resting on the passenger seat, his mind drifted to Abena’s radiant smile, envisioning how her eyes would light up and how she’d scream with excitement when she saw the thoughtful surprise.
In the quiet moments between lyrics, a funny monologue played in Joojo’s mind as he continued to think about his girl.
She’s the one! The lucky girl I’m going to marry. The most beautiful girl in town. Makes her the best. And don’t I deserve the best?
Laughing aloud, he shook his head. “I don’t know what the hell made me quote Gaston word for word there, but chale, all of that is true. And of course, I love Foriwaa as much as she loves me. That’s the difference between me and him. He di33, he only loved himself, not Belle. Hehe!”
The car rolled to a stop at the familiar gates of the apartment where Abena lived. Joojo took a deep breath, then grabbed the bouquet next to him before stepping out of the car.
As he approached the gate, a security guard greeted him with a knowing smile. “Boss man, good evening ooo!”
Joojo reciprocated. “Big man, good evening! Hope sey everything dey okay. Chale, the usual. Abi you know.”
“Oh yeah, I know, I know. More faya! And nice flowers!”
Joojo shook his head, smirking as he passed by him. The guy most definitely thought they were sleeping with each other, the way he always said that ‘more faya’ phrase whenever he came around. I beg, I know my girl is the most beautiful girl the earth’s been blessed with, but that level di33, we no dey go there yet. I’m only making love to that girl after we get married.
He made his way up the stairs to the first floor, where her apartment was. As he reached the front door, he took a moment to compose himself, hiding the bouquet behind him, then rang the doorbell, eager to give his beloved Abena a surprise.
The door creaked open, revealing Abena in all her radiant glory.
Joojo’s breath caught in his throat as he laid eyes on her.
She was dressed in a cute pink blouse that complemented her light-skinned complexion, paired with sweet denim shorts that showcased her sweet, curvy figure and her beautiful legs. Her long flowing hair added an extra touch of allure, creating a vision that left him momentarily speechless.
This… this was why he had been bubbling with excitement at the thought of seeing her. She was the sight that sore eyes deemed an instant cure, a masterpiece that God Himself constantly patted Himself on the back for, an image of jaw-dropping beauty.
“Hey, Joojo,” Abena greeted, a playful smile on her lips as she noticed his starstruck expression. She found his stunned silence endearing and chuckled softly. “Everything okay, love?”
Joojo shook his head, snapping out of his reverie. “You just… I… God, you look so amazing, babe,” he managed to stammer.
Abena grinned, appreciating the compliment. “Thank you, my love. Come on in!” She stepped aside, allowing him entry.
Joojo then revealed what he held behind him, handing her the bouquet with a knowing smile. “So… I thought I’d get these for you. I thought they’d add a bit of color to your day.”
Abena’s eyes lit up with delight as she took the flowers, squealing, “Oh my God, they’re beautiful! Awwww, thank you, Joojo! You always know how to make me smile.”
Just the reaction he had anticipated.
Still slightly awestruck, Joojo finally found his voice. “You’re welcome, babe. Just a small token of how much you mean to me.”
“Thank you, my booboo!”
As she arranged the flowers in a vase, she mentioned, “Soo… I just finished recording this evening’s video for ‘Fozzie’s Lit Reviews.’ I’m going to edit the video before uploading it. Hope you don’t mind keeping me company while I get that done.”
Abena had recently ventured into the foray of YouTube content creation, and it was proving to be quite a successful venture so far. Naming her channel ‘Fozzie’s Lit Reviews’, she had chosen a pretty interesting niche: reviewing old Ghanaian movies. In her opinion, the channel’s review and appreciation of jewels from the past might just help revive the movie industry. As to whether that would actually happen was another topic for discussion, but it could not be doubted that people were enjoying her videos and the nostalgic feelings it gave them.
Joojo nodded, perfectly in support of her commitment to her channel. “Not at all, babe. That’s okay. I’ll just serve myself and stick around while you work. No rush.”
“Awww, thank you! You’re the best, Joojo. Make yourself comfortable, and hopefully I should be done as soon as possible.”
“Sure thing. So, what movie did you do for tonight?”
“Hehehe, I stepped into the horror genre for tonight, with the one and only Diabolo.”
“Eeeeeeeiiiiii! That movie! Snake man movie! Chale, the way that movie disturbed me and Richard, eh? That one and ‘End Of The Wicked’, herh!”

“Okayyyy… a few more seconds… annnnddd yes! The video is finally up! The latest addition to ‘Fozzie’s Lit Reviews’ is officially out in the world wide web.”
Joojo grinned, genuinely pleased as he sat in the chair next to her at the dining table where they had spent the past three hours chatting and teasing each other while she edited her video. “Fantastic! At least MTN didn’t frustrate you this time around.”
“Yes, thank God for that. Last week di33, they really frustrated me. Chale! These telecommunication networks paa di3, if we start talking about them, we won’t finish now.”
“At all, chale. Like we’ll just grill all of them, coz them all be beans ankasa.”
“Hmmm, babe. Anyways, let’s not waste our time on that. Let’s make the most of this beautiful evening. How about we sit outside and just be together?”
Joojo nodded, more than excited to do that. “Sounds perfect.”
So they stepped outside, ready to properly enjoy each other’s company now that she had successfully uploaded her latest video. The evening air was filled with a sense of tranquility, perfect for an intimate moment for lovers.
They settled in her cute, cozy little garden swing, surrounded by the gentle rustling of leaves on the trees nearby, and the gradual darkening horizon. Abena laid her head on his chest, a dreamy smile on her face. “This is all I wanted, to just have you near me,” she murmured, wrapping her arms around his waist.
As Joojo gently stroked her hair, he just marveled at how good a gift he had in his arms.
It was a few years ago that he saw her during hall week, back in the university. He was at a popcorn stand getting some for himself when he spotted a group of three girls, Abena being in the middle, walking around. They were all drop dead gorgeous babes, but nobody could deny that Foriwaa just stood out, with her light skin tone, infectious smile and devastating body.
He could still vividly remember it all: how her smile and cheery disposition had instantly drawn him in like a moth to a flame. How he just couldn’t tear his gaze away, and was later thankful she didn’t realize it. And how he had felt a pang of doubt as he watched her, thinking that a girl as captivating as her could never be interested in someone like him. He had dismissed the idea of approaching her, convincing himself that he was simply out of her league.
But, thankfully for him, fate had other plans, and their paths crossed again and again, each encounter drawing them closer and closer to each other until they eventually fell for each other.
And now, as they sat together in that quiet moment of serenity, with Abena strapping herself tightly to him, Joojo realized how far they had come since that first moment.
Still stroking her hair, a grin crossed his lips.
Time to go all Shakespeare on her.
“Abena Foriwaa Frimpong, dost thou knoweth that thou art a vision of celestial radiance that doth surpass the brilliance of yon stars?” Joojo proclaimed with a theatrical flair.
Abena looked up at him, then burst into laughter. Joojo’s attempts to compliment her beauty in the most Shakespearean fashion never failed to get her in a light mood.
“Oh my goodness! You, eh, you’re incorrigible, Joojo,” she teased, playfully nudging him. “But I love it. Keep going.”
Joojo smirked. For all her wild peals of laughter whenever he switched to this mood, nothing excited her more than this. He then continued with his poetic endeavors. “Thy lips, my love, doth rival rose in bloom, aye, even sweeter than honey’s sweet perfume.”
Each sentence earned more laughter and corresponding awws from her. As he rounded up, though, he did away with the theatrical voice and looked into her eyes with sincerity.
“Abena Foriwaa Frimpong, seriously, no words can truly capture the beauty that resides within you. You are my heart’s delight, and I am utterly enchanted by you.”
Her laughter subsided, and was replaced by a tender gaze. “I love you so much, Joojo. You bring so much joy into my life. You have no idea.”
Joojo, as overwhelmed by emotion as she was, whispered, “And I love you, Abena, more than words can express.”
In a sweet and spontaneous gesture, Abena leaned in and kissed Joojo, sealing their love under the starlit sky. As they enjoyed the taste of each others’ lips, Joojo’s heart fluttered with the highest euphoria.
This was where he belonged. With the most beautiful woman in the world…
This is such a cute couple. They really love each other, don’t they? This is what we love to see…
